In 2011, Owner Dan Swormstedt was visiting his father in Washington, D.C. when he stumbled upon a lobster shack. The line was out the door and around the corner for the staple sandwich of Maine. At that moment, a dream was born!
A little over 6 years later, after research trips to Maine, visiting with lobstermen, stopping into every lobster shack up and down the east coast he possibly could, and a little elbow grease, the dream came to fruition. That dream is Court Street Lobster Bar.
Our goal is to provide our customers with high quality sustainably fished seafood, top notch locally grown produce, and first-class libations at an accessible price.

After graduate school, Dan spent time working in the front office for the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Cincinnati Reds. He then went on to sales and consulting jobs for various market research firms. For most of that time, he also bartended at Rhinehaus in OTR. He found his true passion was interacting with customers and providing top of the line experiences. In April 2015, Dan made a decision to quit his corporate job and pursue opening Court Street Lobster. This is his passion project. You will be able to see him behind the bar, interacting with customers, and if you're lucky, maybe even in the kitchen.
Clint has been in love with food as long as he can remember. From waking up his dad to have him teach Clint how to make breakfast to being mentored by some of the finest chefs this city has seen, Clint eats, sleeps, and breathes food. Working up the ranks from the Waterfront (RIP) through many of Jeff Ruby's restaurants, to Boca, and then the Thunderdome Group, Clint has experienced the rapid growth and maturation of the Cincinnati culinary scene first hand. His goal is to bring you fine dining quality food in a laid back, New England style atmosphere.
"Johnny" brings a unique and exciting amount of creativity to the Court Street Lobster Bar team. Jon has worked at some of Cincinnati's finest establishments such as Maribell's, Mita's, and 50 W Brewery. Jon attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia for Culinary Arts and came back to Cincinnati in 2012 to join the burgeoning food revolution of his hometown. His enthusiasm in the kitchen will be felt by all of those who walk through the door.
